FRENCH-TOAST-BAKE



*Ingredients:

°1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)
°1 cup brown sugar
°12 slices of french bread
°4 eggs
°1 1/2 cups milk
°1 teaspoon vanilla
°Pecans or chopped walnuts for garnish (optional but very good)
°powdered sugar for sprinkling

* Directions :

Melt the butter in the microwave and add the brown sugar.. Stir until combined.
Pour the butter/sugar mixture into the bottom of a 9 x 9 pan....spread it around
Beat eggs, milk and vanilla. Place one layer of French bread slices into the skillet. Put half a spoonful of the egg mixture on a layer of bread.
Add the second layer of bread slices. Spoon over the remaining egg mixture
Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes (covered for first 30 minutes). Sprinkle the nuts on top and bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes. sprinkle powdered sugar
Served with warm maple syrup.
