*How to make oatmeal cookies for a lazy day

In a shallow bowl, soak oats in boiling water for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, measure the butter and sugars into the bowl and beat until fluffy.
Beat eggs and vanilla.
Sift the flour and measure, sift again with soda and spices.
At this time, the oats will be soaked and cooled.
Remove the beaters from the cream mixture and stir into the soaked oats.
Sift the flour mixture and stir.
Pour into a buttered 9x9 pan and bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes.
Mix all the ingredients for the decoration.
Do not remove the cake from the pan, but while it is still warm, spread it on top and place it under the broiler until it bubbles and is golden brown.
Watch carefully.
