Lemonade Puppy Chow

9 cups Chex cereal (rice or corn variety works best)
1 cup white chocolate chips or lemon-flavored chips
¼ cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons lemonade concentrate (thawed)
Zest of 1 lemon (optional for an extra zesty flavor)
1.5 cups powdered sugar
A pinch of salt

Preparation: In a large mixing bowl, measure out the Chex cereal. Set aside. Also, set up a large resealable plastic bag for later.

Melting the Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips (or lemon chips), butter, and lemonade concentrate. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and well-combined. If using, stir in the lemon zest for that extra burst of flavor.

Coating the Cereal: Pour the melted lemonade mixture over the Chex cereal. Gently fold with a spatula, ensuring all the cereal pieces are coated evenly.

Adding the Sweet Finish: Transfer the coated Chex mix into the large resealable plastic bag. Add the powdered sugar and salt. Seal the bag and shake until all the pieces are well-covered in the powdered sugar.

Cooling: Spread the puppy chow out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowing it to cool and set for about 30 minutes. This step also helps the powdered sugar to solidify around the cereal, making for a less messy snack.

Storing: Store your Lemonade Puppy Chow in an airtight container. It should remain fresh for 5-7 days, though it's so delicious it probably won’t last that long!
